scientific name for a sunflower is Helianthus. In Latin, Helios means sun,
and anthos means flower.
Many
plants love being in the sun.
Some plants really need a lot of sun; others grow better with less
sun. Sunflowers need lots of
sunshine. In the morning, a
sunflower faces the rising sun, and by afternoon the sunflower has turned
toward the setting sun. This type of movement is called PHOTOTROPISM.
The French word for
